LOCH SHELDRAKE – The Board of Trustees of the State University of New York has named a new president at SUNY Sullivan.

Dr. David Potash comes to the Loch Sheldrake campus as the college’s eighth president from Wilbur Wright College in Chicago where he served as president since 2013.

SUNY Chancellor John King, Jr. said the board of trustees chose Potash because through his career, he has “demonstrated a focus on rigorous academics, service to an increasingly diverse student population, and keen attention to wraparound services to ensure students success.”

SUNY Sullivan has been led by Officer in Charge Casey Crabill since July 25, 2023 when she came out of retirement after leading Onondaga Community College.

Potash holds a bachelor of arts degree from Rice University where he majored in English and philosophy, a master’s of Arts in History from New York University, and a doctorate in history from Cambridge University.
