NEW WINDSOR- Hudson Valley Honor Flight flew its 32nd mission on Saturday taking veterans of the US armed forces to the nation’s capital. Eighty-two vets were on the flight along with their escorts. They served in the Korean War, Cold War, and Vietnam.

The flight, which originated from New York Stewart  International Airport, took veterans to tour war memorials and monuments to American history.  As with every Honor Flight, several hundred people gathered at Stewart early in the morning to send off the honorees.

In addition to the tours, veterans were treated to a dinner in Washington DC before the flight back to Stewart where they were greeted by friends and family with a hero’s welcome.
