Bronx man arrested in Middletown cold case murder (VIDEO)

MIDDLETOWN – Police have arrested a 23-year-old Bronx man culminating a five-year investigation into the cold case murder of 26-year-old Sebastian Avilan-Medina in the City of Middletown.

Dijion Constantine was arrested in the Bronx on Thursday, April 11 in connection with the March 11, 2019 homicide that occurred at 23 Knapp Avenue in Middletown.

Police said despite the arrest, they are continuing to investigate the incident and identify and charge other suspects involved in the shooting death.

Middletown Police were assisted in the investigation by the FBI Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force, State Police and officers from the State Division of Parole.

Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler said while the investigation is continuing, this arrest “marks an important step forward.”

“Our work is not finished and I am confident that we will identify and locate the other individuals responsible for this incident and bring them to justice.”

Constantine was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail.
