WAPPINGERS FALLS- On Saturday, members of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) organization, a group that describes itself as a Palestinian-led movement for freedom, justice, and equality protested outside of three Hudson Valley McDonald’s locations denouncing the parent company’s agreement with its Israeli franchisee.

According to a statement from BDS, “Palestinian BDS National Committee calls on all supporters of Palestinian rights to escalate the global boycott of McDonald’s until the parent company:  Terminates its agreement with its Israeli franchisee over its support for Israel’s war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.”

BDS members planned protests at three Hudson Valley McDonald’s locations:  Albany Avenue in Kingston, Main Street in New Paltz, and Route 9 in Wappingers Falls.  The protests were scheduled to last one hour between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

At the Wappingers Falls McDonald’s fewer than a dozen protesters were present and could be seen wearing red, green, black, and white and were handing literature to customers waiting online at the drive-thru.
