ALBANY – The January unemployment rate for the Hudson Valley is 3.8 percent, up from 3.7 percent in December 2023 and up from 3.4 percent in January 2023.
Putnam County had the lowest rate in January at 3.5 percent while Delaware County had the highest rate at 5.2 percent.
January 2023 unemployment in Putnam County stood at 3.2 percent. In Delaware County, the rate was 4.9 percent one year earlier.
The overall increase in joblessness is reflective, in part, to post-holiday layoffs.
