Seventeen-year-old charged with firing 9mm at crowd at Burger King

NEW ROCHELLE – An altercation Friday night at the New Roc City Burger King restaurant at 33 LeCount Place in New Rochelle led to a 17-year-old firing a 9mm handgun at a crowd.

The incident began at 7:50 p.m. as a large altercation inside and gunshots fired outside.

New Rochelle Police found shell casings on the sidewalk outside the eatery.

Detectives were able to apprehend the Bronx youth following a brief foot pursuit and he had a 9mm gun in his possession.

There were no reports of anyone being shot.

The suspect sustained a laceration in the melee.

He was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, one for possessing a defaced firearm, and reckless endangerment.
