STEWART AIRPORT – Breeze Airways, New York Stewart International  Airport’s newest airline, launched its twice-weekly round-trip service on Thursday morning with its first flight arriving from Orlando, Florida around 8:45 a.m.  Thursday also featured a return flight departing for Orlando, and Friday will mark the first round-trip to the airline’s second Stewart destination, Charleston, South Carolina.

We’re excited to see Breeze take flight at New York Stewart and expand the menu of unique, affordable options for travelers in the Hudson Valley and beyond,” said Port Authority Chairman Kevin O’Toole.  The Port Authority operates Stewart Airport.

Breeze Airway’s President Tom Doxey believes the airline’s service to Stewart will be a success because the airport is underserved.

“As we introduce service from Stewart International, our fifth airport in New York State, we’re proud to bring affordable and convenient new travel options from the greater Newburgh area to Florida and South Carolina,” said Doxey.

Service between Stewart and Orlando is scheduled to operate on Thursdays and Sundays and Charleston service is scheduled to operate on Fridays and Mondays.

“Stewart is a huge asset to both the local economy and the regional aviation network, and we are committed to seeing its potential realized,” said Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton.
