Woodridge man charged with strangling girlfriend

WOODRIDGE – Police in the Village of Woodridge has charged a 41-year-old man with assaulting and strangling his girlfriend while in the presence of a two-year-old and seven-month-old children.

The victim sustained face and neck injuries, but refused medical attention.

Her boyfriend, Lorenzo Thompson, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon – a loaded 9mm handgun, unlawful possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device, strangulation, assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Thompson was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail on $10,000 bail.

Woodridge Police were assisted by Fallsburg Police and State Police.

The incident took place in the afternoon of January 21.
