TOWN OF WALLKILL – A Mount Vernon woman was arrested on Sunday by State Police following a search of her vehicle yielded over $1,100 worth of stolen items from several Town of Wallkill area stores.

Troopers said at mid-morning on January 21, a manager at a local Price Chopper store alerted them of a woman who left the store with a cart full of items without paying.

She put the goods in her vehicle and drove off. A trooper spotted the car on Crystal Run Road and initiated a traffic stop, but the driver, later identified as Analda Robertson, 36, failed to stop, attempted to elude the officer, struck the trooper’s vehicle and an uninvolved car. She was eventually stopped a short time later on Blumel Road and arrested with the stolen merchandise.

Robertson was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, criminal mischief, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, petit larceny, fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, and reckless endangerment. She was also issued 80 traffic tickets.

She was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail, $1,000 bond or $2,000 secured bond, pending a future court appearance.
