The victim's car was struck by several bullets

POUGHKEEPSIE – Police responded to a report of a shooting just before midnight on Saturday.  Several shots had been fired in the quiet neighborhood resulting in just one concerned neighbor calling 911.

The December 30 shooting occurred at the dead-end section of South Bridge Street and injured a male occupant of a vehicle that crashed into a streetlight during the attack.

Police arrived to find a male suffering from at least one gunshot.  He was triaged at the scene and taken to an area hospital by ambulance.

The victim’s vehicle was struck by several bullets and became disabled when the driver crashed into a streetlight, knocking it down.

Police are investigating the incident and are asking for anyone with information to call the confidential TIP LINE at 845-451-7577.
