WHITE PLAINS – Democratic Westchester County Executive George Latimer announced on Wednesday that he will challenge fellow Democrat Congressman Jamaal Bowman in a party primary for the 16th District House seat.

Latimer, who cannot seek reelection as county executive because of term limits, said he is fed up with the “chaos and disfunction” in Washington.

He criticized Bowman for voting against condemnation of the Hamas attack on Israel and for being one of six Democrats to oppose the massive infrastructure bill “just to stick it to our Democratic president.”

Latimer said the stakes are high for the nation as Donald Trump seeks to get back in the White House and Mike Johnson is now House Speaker.
