POUGHKEEPSIE- For 41 years, Poughkeepsie Journal and United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region’s Holiday Helping Hand program has provided crucial support around the holidays for residents of Dutchess County.  This year, 25 programs throughout the county are receiving grants to provide funds allowing them to purchase gifts, food baskets and organize memorable parties for children and seniors. Additionally, funds may be allocated towards utility grants to support families facing financial hardships.

We’re calling on our community to help support this program that has made a difference to so many individuals in our community for 41 holiday seasons. This year, Holiday Helping Hand is sponsored by the Poughkeepsie Journal, United Way and Q92/iHeart Media. Each year, thanks to your help, we are able to spread joy throughout the Holiday season and support our neighbors in need!

From Millerton to Poughkeepsie to Beacon, grants from Holiday Helping Hand are ensuring that Dutchess County residents have some needs met this holiday season. Contributions can be made online at www.uwdor.org/HHH23, or mailed to United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region, 75 Market Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, Attn: Holiday Helping Hand. Every week donor’s names will be listed in the Poughkeepsie Journal.
