NEW CITY – An audit of the proposed 2024 Rockland County budget of $870 million sound.
“Based on the results of our review, we found that the significant revenue and expenditure projections in the 2024 proposed budget are reasonable,” auditors said.
The proposed spending plan includes a tax levy of $141.8 million.
The state review said in adopting the budget, the county legislature “should be mindful of the legal requirement to maintain the tax levy to no more than the tax levy limit as permitted by law, unless it property overrides the tax levy limit.”
