To the Editor:
What truly matters in voting for the right person for Wappinger Supervisor is their competence, vision, integrity, and commitment to serving the public. I believe Joseph Cavaccini is that person.  He is dedicated, has a track record of community involvement, and understands the needs of the residents.
While his opponents use age as a campaign platform, younger candidates bring fresh perspectives, enthusiasm, innovative solutions, technological fluency, and energy to governance, like the following elected candidates:
  • Michael Tubbs, the first African-American Mayor, was elected in Stockton, CA at 22.
  • John Hammons, 19, was elected Mayor in Muskogee, OK.
  • Michael Sessions, 18, was elected Mayor of Yon Calla, Oregon.
  • Maxwell Frost, was elected to Congress 10th District of Florida at the age of 25.
  • Marc Molinaro, Congressman in the 19th District of New York, was elected to Tivoli’s Board at the age of 18, and Mayor at the age of 19.  He was re-elected 5 times before serving on the Dutchess County Legislature and as our County’s youngest County Executive.

Mr. Cavaccini currently serves as a Dutchess County Legislator and age has not impeded his ability to help his constituents.

When you vote, focus on evaluating the competence, integrity, and vision of that candidate, not attacks aimed to mislead you. Joseph Cavaccini will bring together the best aspects of innovation and wisdom working with the Town Board and serving Wappinger’s residents. Joseph D. Cavaccini is who we need to enhance our quality of life, stop the overdevelopment, improve our parks, and get our town back to working for us.
Sincerely,
Paul Bucher
Wappinger Falls, NY
