Alyssa Carrion. MHA Dutchess Vet2Vet Executive Program Director.

POUGHKEEPSIE- Mental Health America of Dutchess County is pleased to announce the appointment of Alyssa Carrion as Director of Veterans Services.  Carrion has been central to the delivery of Veterans Services for Mental Health America since she joined the company in 2020.

As Director of Veterans Services, Carrion will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of all programs and services.  She will provide the leadership needed to plan, organize, and direct services, activities, and programs helping local veterans.  Carrion previously served as the Program Manager for the SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program serving the Veterans of Dutchess and Orange Counties.  Carrion will continue her work as a Veteran Peer Mentor for Veterans through the Vet2Vet Program and as a Veterans Treatment Court Mentor for Dutchess and Putnam Counties.

Carrion is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army where she served as an active Platoon Leader and Training Officer from 2004-2009, then as an Executive Officer in the United States Army Reserve from 2009-2012.  She has received numerous awards and recognitions throughout her military career.  Carrion holds a Bachelor of Science in Speech & Hearing Services as well as Spanish and Portuguese.
