KINGSTON- A Kingston man is facing up to 15 years in prison following his conviction on felony drug and gun charges in Ulster County Court.

William Mayo, age 42, of Kingston, was convicted following a jury trial for 11 counts including serious charges of sale and possession of narcotic drugs, and criminal possession of a loaded firearm.

Police began an investigation that led to a search warrant being executed on Mayo’s home in June 2022.  The search uncovered loaded handguns and magazines, cash, and cocaine.  The investigation was conducted by the New York State Police VGNET, which investigates dangerous drug dealers and illegal possession and use of weapons.

Mayo, who faces up to 15 years in prison, has five prior felony convictions.  Sentencing is scheduled for August 15, 2024, in front of Judge James Farrell.

“Let this conviction be a message to those who endanger this community with drugs and weapons: our office and law enforcement community will continue to prioritize protecting us from the deadly combination of drugs and guns,” said Ulster County District Attorney Emmanuel C. Nneji.
