Teenage driver charged with intentionally running down 43-year-old

NEW ROCHELLE – A 17-year-old New Rochelle boy has been charged with felony assault for intentionally running down a pedestrian with a motor vehicle in the area of 149 North Avenue in New Rochelle.

The alleged incident occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, New Rochelle Police said. The 43-year-old New Rochelle man sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local trauma center where he was listed in critical but state condition, police said.

The youth, whose name was not released because of his age, and the victim, were familiar with one another and the collision was intentional, investigators said.
