Fire causes heavy damage to Town of Ulster home

TOWN OF ULSTER – Fire early Saturday morning caused extensive damage to the interior and exterior of a double-wide mobile home at 600 East Chester Street Bypass lot 32 in the Town of Ulster.

The 4:12 a.m. call was reported as a porch fire of the 25-foot-by-65-foot residence.

Firefighters opened ceilings and walls to extinguish pockets of fire.

The building inspector posted the structure.

The Ulster County Fire Investigation Unit dete

rmined the blaze started on the exterior porch possibly from discarded cigarettes.
There were no reports of injuries.

Assisting Ulster Hose Co. #5 were Glasco Fire Department FAST Team, Ulster Police, Mobile Life Support Services ambulance, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, State Police, as Centerville Cedar Grove stood by at headquarters covering the district.
