NEWBURGH – Congressman Pat Ryan (D, NY-18) opened a new district office in Newburgh Monday, one of three in his district serving Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties.

“We’re really proud to open our main office right on Broadway in Newburgh to send a message to the whole district, but especially to the people in Newburgh, we are here to serve and support you,” said Ryan. “And showing up and being present is a critical first step.”

While in Newburgh, Ryan said Washington is a frustrating place to be right now.

“We have people with tremendous economic need and anxiety and worries and challenges and we are not doing enough to solve them,” he said. “So, I am down there trying to fight and push as much as I can to work with anybody that wants to deliver relief. We need to figure out, whether it is utility bills, healthcare costs, prescription drug costs, housing prices – we have to bring costs down for folks so we are working in a bunch of directions trying to do that.”

The Newburgh office, on upper Broadway near the city line, joins offices in Poughkeepsie and Kingston to serve Ryan’s constituents. Plans are also being made for other offices

“We’re also going to do some satellite offices in Middletown and few other parts of the district,” he said. “So more to come there.”
