NEW PALTZ-  The 20th Anniversary Earth Day Fair at the Reformed Church at 92 Huguenot Street will be held on April 22, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

It is a free, family-friendly event that will be held rain or shine.  It will feature children’s activities, healthy food, and live music.  This year’s theme is “The Ten Commitments:  A Pathway to Sustainability.”

The event is sponsored by the New Paltz Interfaith Earth Action, Climate Action Coalition, and the Reformed Church Caring for Creation Committee.  Big Moe himself, in full regalia, will guide folks to meet energy experts in order to learn about insulation, solar electricity without panels, heat pumps, composting, plastic problems, electric vehicles and much more.  There will also be selected breakout speaker sessions.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to take a tour of the early 19th Century Reformed Church which moved from a steam driven oil furnace, to an electric heat pump system.

Flags of the United Nations will fly on Huguenot Street and the rail trail will feature ecological info signs.

Attendees may also come early for a 10:00 a.m. nature walk that will last one hour.  A second, shorter walk will take place later in the afternoon.
