WARWICK – Greenwood Lake Village Mayor Jesse Dwyer has been selected by the Warwick Town Republican Committee to run for town supervisor in the fall.

Current Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton has announced he will retire at the end of this term.

Dwyer has served in Greenwood Lake elective office for 12 years, 10 of which have been as mayor.

“I have enormous shoes to fill as Mike Sweeton begins his well-earned retirement at the end of the year, but it’s a challenge I welcome,” Dwyer said.

No Democrat has stepped forward at this point to run for the town’s top spot on the ballot.

Dwyer has been nominated by the Republican committee to head the local ticket with Councilman Reuss Kowal and Tom Mattingly for town council, Karen Amundson for town judge, and Receiver of Taxes Ana Kanz to complete her term.

The general election will be held on November 7.
