YONKERS – A suspect in a Saturday afternoon stabbing in Yonkers has been arrested 64 previous times with 60 convictions. Yonkers Police also said Samuel Areizaga, 55, also has six open bench and arrest warrants with a record of 19 failures to appear.
In this latest incident, Areizaga, who is homeless, and an acquaintance were involved in a personal dispute before 12:30 p.m. that escalated to physical violence when Areizaga allegedly attacked the 63-year-old victim with a knife. He sustained a minor laceration to his forearm and was treated at an area hospital.
Police recovered the knife at the scene.
Areizaga was arrested and booked on a felony assault charge.
