POUGHKEEPSIE – Another victim of Thursday afternoon’s Mansion Street shooting was located at MidHudson Regional Hospital later that afternoon.  When city police arrived at the Mansion Street scene they found an uncooperative woman who had suffered a gunshot wound to her leg.  No other victims were located at the scene.

While the City of Poughkeepsie Police were investigating the crime scene near the intersection of Mansion Street and Winnikee Avenue, the Town of Poughkeepsie Police were contacted by the hospital around 1:15 p.m.to report that a male gunshot victim had walked in seeking treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police reported the victim to city police who responded to the hospital to collect evidence and interview the victim.  It was determined that the man was shot during the Mansion Street incident and had left the scene before the police arrived, according to the city cops.
Town of Poughkeepsie Police Lieutenant Patrick Barry was asked about the victim that walked into the hospital on Thursday afternoon and disputed the report. “At the time of your e-mail, we did not have any calls of a subject walking into MidHudson Regional with a gunshot wound, so I am unfamiliar with your inquiry.”  The email was sent to Lieutenant Barry at 5:11 p.m. on Thursday, several hours after the male victim had entered the hospital and staff notified the police.
Lieutenant Barry followed his original statement by adding, “However, we did get a call approximately 45 minutes later, at 17:58, for a female subject that walked into MHR with a gunshot wound. This subject was uncooperative with our patrol investigation and was ultimately turned over to the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department.”
The City of Poughkeepsie Police are investigating the shootings and are asking anyone with information to call the confidential TIP LINE at 845-451-7577.
