TOWN OF WALLKILL – The Town of Wallkill has a new comptroller to fill the vacancy left when the former official resigned to take another job recently.

Town Supervisor George Serrano said Lucrezia Anderson will start on the job after Labor Day.

Anderson’s background includes over 10 years of municipal accounting experience.

The town previously hired Cheryl Gross, a former Newburgh city comptroller, as deputy comptroller and Donald Paris, the recently retired Middletown city treasurer, as an accounting consultant.

The town is also awaiting the results of a state comptroller’s risk assessment audit and Serrano said the town will “take steps to implement all suggestions to improve the accounting department and overall town operations.”
