POUGHKEEPSIE – The woman accused of setting several fires that turned into a five-alarm blaze in Fishkill last year faced sentencing earlier this week in Dutchess County Court.  Bronx resident Inez Feliciano was sentenced to nine years in prison by County Court Judge Jessica Segal on April 18, 2022.

After an extensive investigation with assistance from the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division, Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, Fishkill Police Department, Village of Fishkill Police, and the Fishkill Fire Department, Feliciano was arrested by State Police on four felony counts of Arson and four felony counts of criminal mischief in September 0f 2021.

Feliciano entered a guilty plea to one count of arson, a violent felony, on February 1, 2022.  Dutchess County Senior Assistant District Attorney Ryan LeGrady noted that in addition to the nine years in prison, Feliciano will serve five years of post-release supervision and has been ordered to $5.8 million in restitution for the damage caused by the fires.

“The arrest and conviction was the product of close work between our office, the New York State Police, Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division, and a number of other local law enforcement agencies and fire companies,” LeGrady said.  “These agencies worked tirelessly, each in their own respective areas, to piece together all of the elements of this crime and ultimately bring Feliciano to justice.”
