MID-HUDSON – Catskill Regional Off-Track Betting’s parlors have been closed since the initial COVID-19 “pause” of the economy, but it has now brought its offerings to the betting public in another fashion.

Patrons in restaurants and bars may now play the ponies in the Hudson Valley, said OTB President Donald Groth.

“It gives us a chance to serve the customers who we can’t serve in our usual way yet; we are waiting for the state legislature to pass some legislation to make it more feasible for us, but in the meantime, the customers can place bets whether it be in Putnam County or Orange County or the rest,” he said.

Groth said those establishments that are offering the betting in-house are enthusiastic about it.
