Vietnam vet stabbed to death on Christmas Day

BEACON – City of Beacon Police are actively investigating the Christmas Day stabbing of Vietnam veteran Rene “Scout” Vito near the intersection of South Brett and Main Streets at approximately 3:40 p.m.  The 65-year-old Marine is said to have lived in the Forrestal Heights area of Beacon.  Detectives are asking for the public to help.

In a recent post on social media, the police said they are looking to speak with anyone who might have information about the murder.  The post said, “The City of Beacon Police Detective Division is actively investigating a stabbing that occurred on Christmas Day.”

The police also said, “At this time, it appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no danger to the residents of Beacon.”
