Tornado confirmed near Millbrook

MILLBROOK – A tornado touched down on Friday, November 12 in the Town of Washington, the National Weather Service reported on Saturday. There were no reported injuries.

The confirmed event occurred just southwest of Killearn Road at around 11:15 a.m. with an estimated maximum wind speed of 90 miles per hour.

The tornado traveled northeast for 2.5 miles, ending just northeast of Butts Hollow Road, the weather service said.

The tornado caused damage to several trees along its path with a number of homes and cars damaged by falling trees.

The event destroyed one shed at a farm near the intersection of Route 343 and Little Rest Road.
