ROCK HILL – Fire at a large residence on Old Sacket Road in Rock Hill overnight Thursday caused heavy damage to the structure.

The blaze brought out firefighters from a dozen departments led by Rock Hill Fire, which initialized an aggressive interior attack, but water supply quickly became an issue due to the lack of water in the area.

Firefighters were forced to go defensive until a good water supply was established.

The blaze was first reported at about 7:30 p.m. with firefighters on the scene until 2 Friday morning.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Sullivan County fire investigators as well as the state Office of Fire Prevention and Control.
