Poughkeepsie shooting on Saturday sends one to hospital

POUGHKEEPSIE – A man is being treated at Vassar Brothers Medical Center for a gunshot wound received in a Saturday afternoon shooting.

Police responded to the area of Fountain Place near Main Street after receiving a report of gunshots at approximately 2:15 p.m. on August 14, 2021. Arriving officers were told that the victim had been shot in the abdomen and transported to the hospital in a private vehicle.
Sources told Mid Hudson News that two males were involved in a family argument in a residence and the argument continued outside on Fountain Place.
A witness said one man fired several shots at the victim, striking him once.  The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle before police arrived.
Crime scene technicians recovered two shell casings and one live round on the street.
Police are asking for anyone with information regarding the incident to call 845-451-7577.
