TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A body was discovered near the northside docks of the Pirate Canoe Club on Saturday evening. The identity of the body will be determined by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Just before 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, police were alerted to a body in the water near the boat club. Town of Poughkeepsie PD patrol units responded to the dock while the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office responded with one of their boats, Enforcer 1.
The body was located under the dock just before 6:00 p.m.
The Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene shortly thereafter and made arrangements to remove the corpse.
Town of Poughkeepsie Police on the scene refused to provide any additional information.
