Moving car struck by multiple gunshots

POUGHKEEPSIE – A motorist traveling on Innis Avenue Monday evening had her car struck by more than 15 bullets near King Street Park.  City and town police are investigating the incident.

The driver was one of multiple callers to City 911 reporting gunshots.  Her car suffered bullet damage to the rear window, rear bumper, trunk, rear tire, and other locations.

The driver continued to drive through the gunshots and came to a rest in the Town of Poughkeepsie, on Boulevard Knolls.  City and town police both responded to the area of the park and the victim’s location.

The female operator was uninjured in the shooting and was cooperating with the police during the investigation.
