Brooklyn man killed in Mohonk Preserve fall

GARDINER – A 31-year-old Brooklyn man was killed on Saturday afternoon, May 22 when he fell approximately 20 feet in the vicinity of Undercliff Trail at the Mohonk Preserve in the Town of Gardiner.

State Police said Evrim Cabuk was retrieving a piece of hiking equipment when he lost his footing and fell, striking his head on a rock.

Fellow hikers began first aid and contacted 911.

Cabuk was pronounced dead at the scene.
