Parole arrested for attempted murder in Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE – A parolee has been arrested by City of Poughkeepsie police detectives and charged with attempted murder after an occupied residence was struck by several bullets on Tuesday afternoon on Cannon Street.

After an investigation into the Tuesday shooting, Poughkeepsie detectives, assisted by Dutchess County Probation officers arrested 22-year-old Messiah Faircloth on Friday for allegedly discharging a weapon at the dwelling.  He was taken into custody without incident.

Faircloth, according to police, has an extensive criminal history and is currently on parole for a previous felony conviction of criminal weapons possession.

He was processed at police headquarters and held for arraignment.
