Residence hit by gunfire in Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE – City police in Poughkeepsie are investigating reports of a Tuesday afternoon shooting that left an occupied residence damaged by bullets.  The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Cannon Street near the intersection with South Cherry Street.

According to the police, several units were dispatched to the area of 162 Cannon Street for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers were unable to locate any suspects in the area. Through the course of the investigation, officers located bullet damage to the multi-family dwelling at 162 Cannon Street.

Crime scene technicians processed the scene and collected evidence which included multiple shell casings. As of this time, no injuries have been reported.
