GOSHEN – Orange County Government, Thursday, administered 900 first doses of COVID-19 vaccine and 800 second time doses.

The effort, conducted at a point of distribution center in Goshen, works well, said County Executive Steven Neuhaus, even with notifying people that it is time for their second shot.

“We email people, we text them, we call them and physically mail them the reminder of what the date is,” he said. “This past Tuesday we had to cancel because of the snow. We rescheduled them this morning, no problem.”

Michele Scesa got her second shot on Thursday, saying it makes her feel “safe and secure,” however, she still plans to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Neuhaus said he could use another 17,000 doses for residents who are ready to roll up their shirt sleeves.
