GOSHEN – Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus says the US Attorney’s Office should investigate where there was any wrongdoing in the distribution of coronavirus vaccine by the Parcare Healthcare Network in Kiryas Joel, not the state attorney general, as Governor Cuomo has announced.

The state is looking into whether Parcare received the vaccine under false pretenses and then distributed it to populations that are not yet approved to receive it.

Neuhaus said a federal, not state, investigation should be undertaken.

“They should have an independent law enforcement agency look into how New York State got vaccinations to a group of people who maybe necessarily didn’t need to get it, or shouldn’t have gotten it or distributed it, yet,” the county executive said.

The State Health Department, State Police and Attorney General’s Offices are all looking into the matter.
