POUGHKEEPSIE – Violet Estates, a multi-family community of senior housing and commercial space, has received Dutchess County Industrial Development Agency financial incentives to construction an $18 million project on Violet Avenue in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
The project will receive a mortgage and sales tax exemption and payment-in-lieu-of taxes.
Apartments will be for persons 55 and over.
The development will include two, three-story buildings with 14,400 square feet of mixed-use space to include seven residential units and 4,000 SF of commercial space.
One three-story building of 12,960 square feet will include nine residential units. One three-story building of 19,365 SF will include 11 residential units and 1,443 SF for a senior center; and one, three-story, 25,380 SF building will include 27 residential units.
The property at 35 Violet Avenue is 7.2 acres.
