Putnam man arrested in Illinois on teen sex charges

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL – A Patterson man was arrested on August 29 by the Crystal Lake Police Department after an officer stopped him at 12:51 am for a “suspicious person” investigation. The “suspicious person” has been identified as 30-year-old Andrew Wiese of South Street in Patterson.

During the investigation, the officer learned that Wiese had driven more than 800 miles to engage in sex with a 15-year-old girl.

Wiese was arrested and charged with the felonies of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault, Child Pornography, Traveling to Meet a Child, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.  He was remanded to the McHenry County Jail with a $25,000 bond.

Wiese is an NYS EMT and was employed with the Town of Patterson Ambulance until submitting his resignation last week.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 2, 2020.
