Heroin and crack cocaine found during traffic stop

PHILMONT – Village resident Monica Haywood, age 40, was arrested Tuesday by New York State Police after a traffic stop of a vehicle driven by Haywood.  Troopers say Haywood was in possession of one deck of heroin and 4.9 grams of crack cocaine during the 3:45 pm traffic stop on Eagle Street in Philmont.

The vehicle was pulled over for violations of the vehicle and traffic law, according to Troopers.  During the stop, the drugs were discovered. Haywood was charged with a felony of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Haywood was arraigned before the village of Philmont Court and released on her own recognizance.
