ELLENVILLE – A 26-year-old Ellenville man was committed to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 secured bond following a fight at a Stewart’s convenience store on Route 209 in Ellenville.
Within 10 minutes after arriving on the scene of the Wednesday afternoon call, village police took Joel Lorenzo Lopez into custody and charged him with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
The victim was rushed to Ellenville Regional Hospital by Ellenville Rescue Squad after police applied a medical tourniquet at the scene to control the bleeding from the stab wound to his arm.
It took 25 staples and seven stitches to close the wound.
