NEW PALTZ – A SUNY New Paltz special education faculty member is off campus and in quarantine after testing positive for the coronavirus. The employee was last on campus on Thursday, March 12.
This is the second case of COVID-19 at SUNY New Paltz.
As a precaution, the college closed Old Main until at least Monday, March 23 to enable deep cleaning by a third-party contractor.
Campus leadership is activating all other necessary protocols and is working with the Ulster County Health Department and county Office of Emergency Management to reach out to students, faculty or staff who may have come in contact with the individual.
