Monticello mayor challenged by village trustee

MONTICELLO – Mayor Gary Sommers will face a challenge for Monticello’s top elected spot on Wednesday, March 18.

Sommers is affiliated with the Republican Party, Conservative Party and Independence Party lines.

Village Trustee George Nikolados is running for mayor affiliated with the Democratic Party line.

Three people are vying for two village trustee posts. Incumbent Carmen Rue is affiliated with the Democratic and Independence Party lines.

David Komatz is running with the Democratic Party Line and the “Monticello United” independent party line.

Michael Banks, Jr. is running for trustee on the Republican line.
