COLD SPRING – Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (D, NY-18) said Tuesday that he is definitely going to seek re-election, but has yet to make a formal announcement.
The Democrat lawmaker has been endorsed by the Independence Party of New York ahead of his formal announcement.
“I don’t think there should be any doubt that I am running for another term. I think there are so many important things to be working on in Washington and I plan on being part of a group working on solutions,” he said. “So, you can bet that I am running again we will have more to say about it later.”
Conservative-Republican Chele Farley of Tuxedo and independent candidate Scott Smith of Goshen announced several months ago that they would challenge Maloney for the post.
