NEW HAMPTON – Businessman Michael Martucci of New Hampton, Thursday, formally launched his campaign as the Republican candidate in the 42nd State Senate District race this fall.
He will face off against freshman lawmaker Democrat Jennifer Metzger of Rosendale.
“There has never been a more critical time than now to bring new voices to Albany,” said Martucci. “People believe our state is headed in the wrong direction now more than ever. In the last year, we have seen some of the most radical bills passed into law; things like the bail elimination bill, which is in the news every single day. These are huge concerns for people. As a father and as a husband, I am worried about the safety of my family,” he told a room full of supporters.
The 42nd Senate District encompasses all of Sullivan County and portions of Orange, Ulster, and Delaware counties.
