TOWN OF HIGHLANDS – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with an SUV that was making an illegal U-turn on Route 9W near West Point, State Police said.
The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday when a northbound tan or beige SUV attempted to make an illegal U-turn into the southbound lane.
A motorcycle operated by George Guy, 62, of Highland Falls was northbound on 9W in the passing lane and was unable to avoid the SUV, colliding into the driver’s side of the vehicle.
Guy was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene.
After the crash, the SUV fled.
