Reward offered in Newburgh homicide

NEWBURGH – The Newburgh City Police Department and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the shooting death of Amed Roberto Alvarado-Baquedano, 35, who was fatally shot in the area of Liberty and Clinton streets late Saturday night.

An 18-year-old man was also shot twice, receiving non-fatal injuries.

Alvarado-Baquedano was celebrating the birthday of a family member down the street from where the shooting occurred.

The investigation is being handled by Newburgh Police, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and the ATF.
