MONTICELLO – A fire believed to have been accidental in nature caused heavy damage to the front right corner of the Town of Thompson highway garage on Jefferson Street in Monticello at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Town Supervisor William Rieber said there were no injuries to any town personnel or firefighters and limited damage to equipment.
The damaged portion of the building will be isolated so that the rest of it can be used. Rieber said there will be an insurance claim for the property damage.
