Several assaults investigated in Nyack

NYACK – Orangetown Police are investigating several assaults that occurred in the Village of Nyack the early morning hours on Sunday, August 25.

At about 2:40 a.m. near 65 Main Street, a man was stabbed in the abdomen and another man was physically assaulted. Both men were treated at Montefiore Nyack Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after those assaults, police responded to reports of shots fire near Artopee Way. Police found three men had been shot. Two the victims were transported to Nyack Hospital and the third, who was shot in the face, was transferred to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

One of the victims was transferred to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern for a gunshot wound to the back and the third was treated for a gunshot wound to the abdomen. None of the shooting victims suffered from life-threatening wounds, police said.

The incidents appear to be related, detectives said.

The investigation is continuing and police are asking anyone with information, who may have witnessed the assaults or has video, to call them at 845-359-2121.
