HASTINGS – A fire in the Foodtown supermarket in Hastings on Saturday morning has has closed down the store for the time being.
The fire around 10 a.m. at the at 87 Main Street, Foodtown, damaged the upper office of the store, near the loading dock,. It was quickly extinguished by the Hastings Fire Department, preventing a serious situation from getting much worse, police said.
The store will remain closed while crews work on cleaning it with all efforts are being made to get the store open as soon as possible, police said.
The extent of the damage and cause of the fire were not immediately known. No injuries were reported.
